SEND Case Officer – Middlesbrough £35 per hour | Hybrid working (2 days office-based)
Middlesbrough Council’s SEND Assessment and Review Team are looking for experienced SEND Case Officers to join their outstanding service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-performing, committed team who make a real difference to the lives of children, young people, and their families.
Key responsibilities:
Manage an allocated caseload of children and young people across the full SEND process, including new referrals, statutory assessments, and ongoing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Monitor progress and ensure statutory milestones are met in line with the SEND Code of Practice
Maintain accurate data and documentation within statutory timeframes
Work collaboratively across multi-agency settings to secure the best outcomes for children and families
Represent the SEND Assessment and Review Team at meetings and reviews, maintaining strong and professional relationships
Requirements:
Experience working as a SEND Case Officer within a local authority setting
Strong understanding of statutory SEND processes and the SEND Code of Practice
Excellent organisational, communication, and report writing skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing deadlines
Confident in building positive relationships with families, schools, and multi-agency partners
Working arrangements: Hybrid working model – 2 days per week office-based, with home working for the remainder. Travel to schools and settings across Middlesbrough will be required.
