Pastoral & Learning Support Assistant / Aspiring Clinical PsychologistĀ to join their dedicated SEMH team.
The school supports students aged 3 ā 11 withĀ
social, emotional and mental health needsĀ and associated challenging behaviours. Many students may beĀ
disengaged from learning or at risk of exclusion, so buildingĀ
positive relationshipsĀ and demonstrating theĀ
value of educationĀ is central to the role.
This is an excellent opportunity forĀ
Psychology or Criminology graduatesĀ to gain practical experience inĀ
restorative, trauma-informed approaches, and to develop skills essential for a future career inĀ
clinical psychology, educational psychology, or therapeutic roles.

Your role:As anĀ
Aspiring Clinical Psychologist / Pastoral & Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- š¤ BuildĀ positive, trusting relationshipsĀ with students who are disengaged or at risk of exclusion.
- š¬ Support studentsāĀ social, emotional, and mental health development.
- š Encourage engagement, confidence, and resilience in learning.
- š Work alongside teachers and therapists to deliverĀ therapeutic interventionsĀ and SEMH-focused support.
- š”ļø Provide consistency and safety for students with trauma or adverse childhood experiences.
- š” Model empathy, restorative approaches, and resilience every day.
This role providesĀ
practical experience in SEMH, therapeutic practice, and intervention strategies, giving aspiring clinical psychologists valuable insight into working with children and young people.

- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to buildĀ strong, supportive relationships.
- Calm, empathetic, resilient, and able to work in challenging situations.
- Motivated, professional, and enthusiastic to learn.
- No previous experience required,Ā full training and CPD provided.
